Improvements of surface tribological properties by magnetic assisted ball burnishing

The effect of the magnetic assisted ball burnishing on a general, C45 steel was investigated considering tribological aspects. In engineering practice, properties machined surfaces are characterized by amplitude roughness parameters from profiles, as Rpk, Rk, Rvk, Rsk and Rku. Information about sliding can be described these together with oil retention capacity surface. Despite conventional processes used post-machining operation, authors applied newly designed method tool, which also burnish flat or harmonically changing is able to round edge workpiece in one pass well, immediately after milling. To increase efficiency process, different types strategies were compared. results investigations showed that decreases frictional resistance, at same time it creates advantageous pockets
